Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Deathly Half-Blood Prisoner of the Phoenix Goblet Chamber

Doors open one hour ahead (6:30 pm for evening shows and 2 pm for the afternoon show) and seating is first-come first-served. Your ticket gets you a seat as long as you arrive at least 10 min before the show starts. We will open up all remaining seats to everyone (even those without a ticket) 10 mins before the show starts, so if you got a ticket, you need to arrive before then to claim it!

The show runs approximately 2 hours and will have a 15 minute intermission.

-- DONATIONS --

Backyard Theater is a delightfully unprofessional theater group dedicated to raising money for our local communities. While the cost of your ticket helps us cover the overhead costs of putting on a production (venue, equipment, props, etc.), this is a fundraising event, so we also ask that you consider donating whatever you can at the show, either in cash or through Venmo. This production, we are raising money for the Transgender Law Center (https://transgenderlawcenter.org/), a fantastic trans-led organization that provides helpful resources to and fights for the rights of transgender people throughout the United States. Please help us support the important work this group is doing!

We also do not want the cost of a ticket to be prohibitive for anyone, so if $20 is hard for you to swing, you can use the promo code "TheaterForEveryone" to waive the cost of your ticket.

-- WHAT TO BRING --

Cash!! If you do not use Venmo, then cash will also be the best way for you to donate and show your support for both Backyard Theater and the non-profits we support.

Finally, there will be some seats and couches in the back, but we will mostly have people sitting on the floor, so bring whatever you need to make yourselves comfortable without obstructing other people's views.

-- ADULT SHOW CONTENT --

Fair warning: the show will contain some adult content and language. If you're hoping to bring kids, and you haven't had the sex talk with them yet, now is as good a time as any!

-- WANT TO SEE MORE SHOWS? --

We put on productions roughly every six months! To get alerts about upcoming shows, join our email list! You can find information about all this and more at our website:

HypeFest! A Live Dating Show

HypeFest! A Live Dating Show

Are you tired of swiping? Do you wanna experience dating with no downside? Do you crave more experiential dating events that are inclusive and community-oriented?

Then, come on down to HypeFest! We're a live dating and connection event that's designed around one thing - making single/available folks feel good about themselves.

Here's the premise:

You can learn so much about someone from their friends/community. So why not have an event where we only learn about single/available folks from their friends?! In our show, friend groups (AKA hype squads) go up on stage to tell the audience why their single/available friend (AKA one of our 20 contestants) is so amazing - in 2.5 minutes or less.

So where does the dating come in?

The afterparty! There's lots of moments to mingle before the show starts, during our intermission, and little moments in between - followed by a full hour to vibe out after the show. We provide "interest cards" (think business cards meet valentines from elementary school) that you can fill out for contestants you are interested in romantically and/or platonically. Shoot your shot in person, give a contestant your interest card, or drop it off in our host's Hype Box to be shared with the contestant later. Our event is focused on the hyping, so it's a low pressure way to meet new people you may wanna date!

Here's how the show goes down:

7pm Doors open

7-8pm Open hangs

8-9pm Act I: 10 Contestants/Hype Squds that have been pre-selected before the show

9-10pm Act II:10 Contestants/Hype Squds that are chosen live from the audience

10-11pm Afterparty
