Let's find our power and playfulness together in this free vinyasa series. This class integrates the foundation of form and technique with the freedom of imagination and flow. We will harness the vigor of vinyasa using both a breath practice and vocal practice as a way to re-connect and re-orient to our embodied experience. This is a chance to re-imagine and re-attune to our personal capacity to shape (and BE shaped by) the energy of the room and to expand our ability to listen to the aliveness both within and around us. Get ready to move in both familiar and new ways on your yoga mat!
If possible, we request that you bring your own mat for class.
About the Instructor:Livanna Maislen is an immersive dance-theatre performer (Sleep No More; Emursive Productions; Company SBB) and yoga-movement instructor with roots in New York and the Northwest. Her yoga practice has brought her into various communities, all of which have inspired her to consider the relational process of yoga - how can we practice being social and inner activists both on and off the mat and how can that discipline bring us deeper into our aliveness? Maislen is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Somatic Psychotherapy, where she is developing a sensate-focused practice that interweaves her knowledge of movement, mindfulness, meaning-making, and sound.
